Thank you to our Volunteers!

For much of the CFA Society Melbourne’s 23 year history, all activities and operations have been run by a team of volunteers. As the Society has grown, we have been able to professionalise and recruit staff to manage operational Society activities, but volunteers remain the backbone of our success.

In September, we celebrated the work and support of our wonderful volunteers have shown for our society and community at our Volunteer Thank You Lunch. Our volunteers bring so much to our organisation - vision, expertise, skills, connections, experience and friendship to help our society evolve and grow.

We are proud to announce and celebrate the winners of the following 2023 Volunteer Achievement Awards:

    • This is my first year as a volunteer and it certainly hasn’t been an easy ride. Volunteering with the society is full of challenges that test you but also give you an opportunity to grow. I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by some brilliant people who are always there to give advice and support when needed. It’s also incredibly fulfilling seeing my fellow team members develop and achieve things that that didn’t think were possible!

    • Honoured and humbled to be an award winner.

The volunteers of the CFA Society provide an affable and well-resourced community with the goal of contributing to the betterment of one another as investment professionals. It is an incredible privilege to be part of a community that is committed to promoting excellence and integrity in the finance industry.

Everyone’s input and contributions are highly valued, and it is astonishing how willing members of the community are to volunteer their time, knowledge and experiences. Volunteers work across a range of asset classes and streams, ranging from distribution to investments to operations.

As a volunteer, I find it rewarding to be able to assist others in their professional development journeys; every opportunity and interaction has been positive. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the CFA Society for acknowledging my dedication as an award winner. I am grateful for the opportunities, inspiration, and support provided by everyone involved. Together, we are championing professional excellence, ethical conduct, and the positive influence of our industry.

    • Volunteering for the CFA Society has always been a pleasurable and rewarding experience. It has provided many opportunities to engage with like-minded industry professionals who have demonstrated a passion for Finance. I’ve been extremely fortunate to have built many wonderful relationships that will continue for many years to come. I’ve witnessed the volunteer base grow from a handful of members to a minor community. With the changes to come, it’s never been a more opportunistic time to join to meet great people.
